"Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep" (Romans 12:15). When do I normally rejoice? What does that show about me? Jealousy and envy may not be the most common subjects for a sermon but we know in our own hearts that these tendencies interfere with our rejoicing and need to be dealt with. After all, how we rejoice with others, how we treat others in general, and how we pray for others, even our enemies, is a fairly accurate barometer of our real spirituality.
