The Sentence Analysis Parent Guide is comprised of eighteen lessons grouped into three sections of study. The first eight lessons examine the basic grammatical elements of simple and compound sentences. These lessons might be pictured as the trunk of a tree, with the study of verbals (Lessons 9-12) branching out in one direction and the study of clauses (Lessons 13-18) branching out in another. Unique to this program is the incorporation of both God’s Word and God’s world. If the Sentence Analysis curriculum is a tree, then the creative activities suggested by the parent guide are by analogy an underground stream feeding the root system of that tree. Knowing the delightful ease with which fruit appears on a well–watered tree, the parent can commit to simply being an abundant channel of the Master Teacher’s creativity! Indeed, the goal and substance of the parent guide is the provision of ideas for such activities.
